Embed VASP Tracker Widgets

Put a live view of crypto licensing deadlines on your own site: a world map of 76 jurisdictions, a day-by-day countdown for any of the 68 jurisdictions that have a dated key event, and a small SVG badge such as Deadline: UK 28 Feb 2027 – 128 days. Every widget is built from the same data as this site, where each date is checked against an official source (a law, an official gazette or a regulator notice). The widgets are free to use as long as the visible “Source: VASP Tracker” link stays in place.

All three widgets are available from the Embed button next to Cite this on every country page, on the five language home pages and on every company tracker. This page explains each widget, shows a live preview, and lets you build a snippet for any jurisdiction.

World Deadline Map

The map colours each jurisdiction by status: dark red where a licensing deadline or key date is still ahead, gold where a regime exists but the official date has not been set, and green where the rules are already in force or the deadline has passed. Every country links to its VASP Tracker page, which opens in a new tab and lists the official sources. The map scales to the width of your column, from a 390-pixel phone to a full desktop layout.

Countdown for One Jurisdiction

The countdown shows the number of days left until the next key date for one jurisdiction, for example the application deadline in the United Kingdom on 28 Feb 2027. The day count is calculated in the visitor's browser against midnight of the deadline day in UTC+8 (Asia/Shanghai), the same rule this site uses everywhere, so it changes at the same moment for every reader. Without JavaScript the widget shows the number of days that was correct when the page was last built. When the date has passed the widget says “Deadline passed” instead of showing a negative number, and jurisdictions whose rules are already in force show the date they took effect.

Below each countdown there is a link to the VASP Tracker page and a link to the official source of the date, such as fca.org.uk for the United Kingdom.

Script Version Without an Iframe

If your site does not allow iframes, add an empty element with a data-vasptracker attribute holding the two-letter code from the table below, and load widget.js once per page. The script draws the same countdown box inside your page. It carries its data with it, so it makes no further requests, sets no cookies and reads nothing from your page apart from the data-vasptracker elements. You can place several elements with different codes on the same page.

Deadline Badge

The badge is a small SVG image, 20 pixels high, suited to README files, sidebars and newsletters. Its day count is fixed when the site is built and refreshed with every build, so it can lag by up to a day. Image caches (for example on GitHub) may hold it for a few hours longer.

Licence and Attribution

• Free to use on any website, commercial or not, with no sign-up and no API key.
• Keep the source link visible. Each widget shows “Source: VASP Tracker” with a link to the matching page. Please do not hide it, cover it or remove it; for the badge, keep the link around the image.
• The data behind the widgets is published under CC BY 4.0, the same as the open data downloads. If you reuse the numbers in another form, credit “VASP Tracker (vasptracker.com)”.
• Not legal advice. The widgets show dates as published by regulators and legislators. Check the official source before relying on a date.

How Often the Data Refreshes

The site is rebuilt and deployed every day, normally around 20:00 UTC+8, and also after any change to a deadline. Each build regenerates the map, all countdown pages, all badges and widget.js from the same data file. The countdowns recount in the visitor's browser, so their day number is always current, while the jurisdiction data inside them refreshes with each build. Widget files are cached for one hour. Privacy and Performance

The files under /embed/ and /badge/ set no cookies, contain no analytics or tracking code, and load no fonts, scripts or images from other servers. The map page is a single HTML file with the map drawn inline as SVG; a countdown page is under 3 KB. The widget pages are excluded from search indexes (they carry a noindex header and tag) so they do not compete with your page or ours.
