What Is Changing
Nigeria's Investments and Securities Act, 2025, in force since 25 March 2025, brings virtual asset service providers and digital asset operators under the SEC. VASPs register under the SEC's digital asset rules; eligible firms can first enter the Accelerated Regulatory Incubation Program (ARIP), receive an approval-in-principle and operate for a period set by the SEC before full registration.
We have not verified a fixed deadline for existing operators in an official SEC document.
