What Is Changing
Sweden applies MiCA directly. ESMA's list of grandfathering periods shows a 9-month transitional period, so providers that relied on national rules had to hold a MiCA authorisation by 30 September 2025. ESMA's Article 93 list names Finansinspektionen (FI) as competent authority for crypto-asset service providers.
The figures below count entries in ESMA's interim MiCA register (CASPS.csv) with Sweden as home member state, and entries passporting services into Sweden. They are recalculated on every build.
ESMA Interim MiCA Register: Entries by Home Member State
- 379 entries (376 unique LEIs) in ESMA's CASP register
- 1 entries with Sweden as home member state
- 186 entries list Sweden among the countries where services are provided
