What Is Changing
France applies MiCA directly. ESMA's list of grandfathering periods shows a 18-month transitional period, so providers that relied on national rules had to hold a MiCA authorisation by 1 July 2026. ESMA's Article 93 list names AMF / ACPR as competent authority for crypto-asset service providers.
The figures below count entries in ESMA's interim MiCA register (CASPS.csv) with France as home member state, and entries passporting services into France. They are recalculated on every build.
ESMA Interim MiCA Register: Entries by Home Member State
- 379 entries (376 unique LEIs) in ESMA's CASP register
- 36 entries with France as home member state
- 178 entries list France among the countries where services are provided
