What Is Changing

Luxembourg applies MiCA directly. ESMA's list of grandfathering periods shows a 18-month transitional period, so providers that relied on national rules had to hold a MiCA authorisation by 1 July 2026. ESMA's Article 93 list names CSSF as competent authority for crypto-asset service providers. ESMA marks the designation as not yet formal (list updated 17 February 2026).

The figures below count entries in ESMA's interim MiCA register (CASPS.csv) with Luxembourg as home member state, and entries passporting services into Luxembourg. They are recalculated on every build.
