What Is Changing
Estonia applies MiCA directly. ESMA's list of grandfathering periods shows a 18-month transitional period, so providers that relied on national rules had to hold a MiCA authorisation by 1 July 2026. ESMA's Article 93 list names Finantsinspektsioon (EFSA) as competent authority for crypto-asset service providers.
The figures below count entries in ESMA's interim MiCA register (CASPS.csv) with Estonia as home member state, and entries passporting services into Estonia. They are recalculated on every build.
ESMA Interim MiCA Register: Entries by Home Member State
- 379 entries (376 unique LEIs) in ESMA's CASP register
- 3 entries with Estonia as home member state
- 182 entries list Estonia among the countries where services are provided
