What Is Changing
Hungary applies MiCA directly. ESMA's list of grandfathering periods shows a 6-month transitional period, so providers that relied on national rules had to hold a MiCA authorisation by 30 June 2025. ESMA's Article 93 list names Magyar Nemzeti Bank (MNB) as competent authority for crypto-asset service providers.
ESMA's interim register lists no CASP with Hungary as home member state; firms serve Hungarian clients from other member states under a MiCA passport.
The figures below count entries in ESMA's interim MiCA register (CASPS.csv) with Hungary as home member state, and entries passporting services into Hungary. They are recalculated on every build.
