What is changing
The UAE's new central bank law, Federal Decree-Law No. 6 of 2025, came into force on 16 September 2025. Article 184 gave everyone subject to it one year to comply. That period ended on 16 September 2026, unless the CBUAE Board extended it.
Dubai's VARA and the ADGM and DIFC free zones run separate regimes and are not covered on this page.
