What is changing
Taiwan's Virtual Asset Service Act replaces AML-only registration with FSC licensing for virtual-asset service providers.
Under Article 55, providers already registered for AML purposes must apply within 12 months of the Act taking effect and be licensed within 21 months, extendable once by three months. Otherwise they must stop operating. The effective date is still to be set by the Executive Yuan.
