Methodology · Taiwan
How the Taiwan tracker is built. Data is official and read on every build.
Sources
- FSC Securities and Futures Bureau, “提供虛擬資產服務之事業或人員”: three lists (firms that completed AML registration; firms that applied to revoke it; former declarants that did not register), each with the unified business number, updated 29 Sep 2026. The registration PDF linked from that page gives business lines, registration date, brand, paid-in capital and website; its rows must match the first list exactly.
- FSC release, 22 September 2025 and FSC release, 30 June 2026; Money Laundering Control Act, Article 6; Virtual Asset Service Act (FSC law database: promulgation date, “not yet in force” note, Articles 55 and 56). Every phrase relied on is checked against the Chinese text on every build.
Source Hierarchy
- official FSC, Ministry of Justice law database.
- company none used.
- press · secondary none used.
Names and Labels
Registered firms are shown under the brand the FSC lists (對外營業品牌名稱), with the company name in Chinese. Other firms are shown under their company names in Chinese as listed; we do not translate or romanise them. Business lines are translated from the FSC's four categories. Dates are converted from the ROC calendar (year + 1911). “Not on FSC lists” covers global brands we checked against every company name, brand and website on the lists; it is not a finding about how they serve users in Taiwan.
Limits
- Warning lists of unapproved offshore platforms published by the industry association (twvasp.org.tw) are not used: it is not a government site.
- The FSC lists give no dates for withdrawals or for firms leaving the former regime.
- No deadline dates under the Virtual Asset Service Act are calculated until an official source sets its commencement date.
