Methodology · Nigeria
How the Nigeria tracker is built. Data is official and read on every build.
Sources
- SEC Nigeria, Registered FinTech Operators (FinPort): the Regulatory Incubation table (7 rows; we cover the 5 rows with institution type VASP) and the ARIP table (2 rows). Contact details and sponsor names are not stored.
- SEC ARIP admission circulars: 2 July 2026 (7 entities), 3 July 2026 (2), 13 August 2026 (3). Names, dates and the “not a final licence” wording are checked on every build.
- SEC, ARIP framework (June 2024).
Source Hierarchy
- official Securities and Exchange Commission, Nigeria.
- company none used.
- press · secondary none used.
Names and Labels
Firms are shown under a short form of the listed name or the trading name the SEC gives; the listed name is on each page. Global brands are checked against every company and trading name. We do not link SEC entities to global groups beyond their names.
Limits
- The SEC's FinPort ARIP table has not been updated with the 2026 circulars; we combine both and show the source of each fact.
- The SEC operator search, investor alerts and the Investments and Securities Act 2025 are not covered.
- Regulatory Incubation rows that are not VASPs (an existing exchange and a FinTech entrepreneur) are not covered.
