6 Firms Hold FINMA's FinTech Licence: The Full List
Who holds Switzerland's FinTech licence under Article 1b of the Banking Act, what the licence covers, and what FINMA's list does not tell you.
The short version: 6 firms hold FINMA's FinTech licence and 1 DLT trading facility is licensed in Switzerland, according to FINMA's lists read 21 Oct 2026 (FINMA). The FinTech licence holders are Audax Solutions AG, Bivial AG, Relio AG, Sequence SA, SR Saphirstein AG, Yapeal AG. One foreign holder, myPOS Payments Ltd, has an authorised representation in Zürich.
What the FinTech Licence Is
FinTech institutions under Article 1b of the Banking Act take deposits from customers without paying interest and without engaging in active business with them, such as lending (SIF). FINMA's FinTech page says a firm needs FINMA authorisation if, among other things, “the number of clients whose deposits or cryptobased assets you accept is over twenty” (FINMA). The Federal Council's 2025 consultation proposes replacing this licence with a new payment instrument institution licence.
What the List Does Not Tell You
FINMA's list gives only names and cities: no licence dates and no business lines. FINMA does not mark which licence holders handle cryptobased assets, so we do not label any of them as a crypto firm. 4 of the 6 are in Zürich.

Banks and securities firms are on separate FINMA lists without any crypto category; firms that are only subject to anti-money-laundering rules through a self-regulatory organisation are not on FINMA's licence lists. Neither group is covered here.
