Switzerland Has One Licensed DLT Trading Facility: Seturion, Formerly BX Digital
More than five years after the DLT Act took full effect, FINMA's list shows a single DLT trading facility. What it may do, and what changed with its name.
The short version: FINMA's list of financial market infrastructures shows 1 licensed DLT trading facility, Seturion AG in Zürich (read 21 Oct 2026). FINMA marks it for post-trading activity and small DLT trading facility; it is not marked for private participants (FINMA).
What a DLT Trading Facility Is
The licence was created by the DLT Act, fully in force since 1 Aug 2021. FINMA describes it as allowing “for multilateral trading of DLT securities” under the Financial Market Infrastructure Act. A facility needs this licence if it admits retail participants, holds DLT securities in central custody, or clears and settles trades (FINMA).
The First Licence
On 18 Mar 2025 FINMA announced it had licensed BX Digital AG, a sister company of the BX Swiss AG exchange and part of the Boerse Stuttgart Group, as the first DLT trading facility. FINMA said the offer is aimed only at supervised participants, usually banks, and that BX Digital does not offer custody of DLT securities (FINMA).
The New Name
The federal commercial register lists BX Digital AG under the same company number (CHE-368.063.736) as Seturion AG; the name change was published on 7 Sep 2026 (Zefix). FINMA's list now carries the new name.
