Only 5 Crypto Exchanges Are Registered in Malaysia. None of the 10 Global Exchanges We Checked Is One of Them
The Securities Commission's register of digital asset exchanges: who is on it and which global names are missing.
The short version: 5 digital asset exchanges are registered with the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) as Recognized Market Operators: HATA Digital, Luno Malaysia, MX Global, SINEGY DAX, Kinetic DAX (SC list, as of 20 Jul 2026). The SC also lists 2 initial exchange offering (IEO) operators (Kapital DX, Pitch Platforms) and 3 digital asset custodians (CoKeeps, Gambit Custody, Jada Platform) (SC). No name on these lists carries the name Bitget, Coinbase, Crypto.com, Gate, Kraken, KuCoin, MEXC, OKX.

Total trading value on regulated DAXs rose to RM17.14 billion in 2025, 23% more than RM13.93 billion in 2024 (SC release, 20 May 2026).
What This Page Does Not Cover
“Not on the SC's lists” is not a finding about how a firm serves users in Malaysia. The SC's Investor Alert List is not read: it is a search tool that needs a browser script. Bank Negara Malaysia rules and Labuan FSA licences are not covered.
