Methodology · Malaysia
How the Malaysia tracker is built. Data is official and read on every build.
Sources
- SC, List of Registered Digital Asset Exchanges (as of 20 Jul 2026): table A (registered RMOs, 5), B (not permitted from 1 June 2019, 19), C (not permitted from 1 March 2019, 21) and D (transitional period, 43; counted only, without pages of its own). Numbering, headers and the section order are checked on every build. We keep the state from each address, not the address.
- SC, Digital Assets: list of regulated digital asset players: DAX operators (checked against table A), IEO operators and digital asset custodians.
- SC media releases: Binance, 30 July 2021; Bybit, 27 December 2024; revised DAX guidelines, 20 May 2026. Every phrase relied on is checked on every build.
Source Hierarchy
- official Securities Commission Malaysia.

Names and Labels
Registered firms, IEO operators and custodians are shown under a short form of the listed name (without “Sdn Bhd”); the listed name is on each page. MX Global Sdn. Bhd. appears in both table A and table B; it has one page with both facts. “Not on the SC's lists” covers global brands checked against every name on the lists and the websites linked from the Digital Assets page; it is not a finding about how they serve users in Malaysia.
Limits
- The SC Investor Alert List is a script-driven search and is not read.
- The SC list gives no registration dates, so we do not say when each firm was registered.
- Bank Negara Malaysia and Labuan FSA rules are not covered.
